Microsoft Windows 8 (32-bit)

i attempted to do a restore to original factory settings.

it took over 24 hrs to get to 100%, on its final restart, the screen went black, and now after restarting it, it continues to be black..... help please.... i need this computer to complete my homework.

I came across your post and wanted to assist you,

 

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

 

Are you trying to perform recovery using the partition or using a recovery media?

Did you make any software or hardware changes on the PC?

 

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

 

Perform a Hard Reset

 

Run the extensive test on the hard drive from F2

 

Depending on the test results, I would suggest you contact our HP phone support so that they can check and help you further, please fill in the product details to get the tech support number.

 

Please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect

Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone numberCase number and phone number appear.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.
