Hi @TOEHED1966

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for reaching out—I'm really sorry you're having such a tough time getting your HP 17-c0000 laptop back up and running. It’s especially frustrating when you’ve tried everything and still feel stuck.

Let’s walk through what’s possible and what’s not when it comes to using a floppy disk for Windows 11.

Why Windows 11 Can’t Be Installed from a Floppy Disk

Floppy disks simply don’t have the capacity or speed required:

  • A standard floppy holds 1.44 MB, while the Windows 11 ISO is over 5 GB.
  • Windows 11 requires UEFI boot, Secure Boot, and TPM 2.0, none of which are compatible with floppy-based boot methods.

What You Can Do Instead

1. Use a USB Flash Drive (Recommended) This is the most reliable method.

  • Get a USB drive with at least 8 GB capacity.
  • Visit the Windows 11 Download Page.
  • Use the Media Creation Tool to create a bootable USB.
  • Plug it into your laptop, power on, and press Esc or F9 to access the boot menu.

2. Use HP Cloud Recovery Tool (If Needed) If your laptop originally shipped with Windows 11, HP offers a recovery solution.

3. Check BIOS Settings Make sure your system is ready to boot from USB:

  • Power on and press Esc or F10 to enter BIOS.
  • Enable Legacy Boot (if needed) and confirm Secure Boot is disabled temporarily.
  • Save changes and reboot with the USB inserted.

Please try these steps and let me know how your laptop responds. I truly hope this helps you get back up and running. If anything feels unclear or doesn’t work, I’ll be right here to guide you further.

If my response helped, please mark it as an Accepted Solution It helps others and spreads support. 💙 Also, tapping "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" makes a big difference! Thanks! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
