Product: HP ENVY Notebook - 15-ah150na (ENERGY STAR)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi I have an old hp envy and it went belly-up on me recently, could not find any way to get it to boot so tried reinstalling win 10 (several times) but the install never finishes, after appearing to install everything it just shows hp logo with rotating dots under it endlessly.

So tried other OS, various flavours of linux and can get the live versions to work but non of them will install but give no reason, sometimes get messages about commands using root but they never seem to work and the linux gparted app appears to indicate the hard drive is OK.

So wondered if anyone might have ideas.
