@thotasaijayanth, welcome to HP Support Community!

Thank you for reaching out with your concern. I'm glad to assist you today.

If your HP Notebook's camera is not working and the driver appears to be missing, here are some steps to help you reinstall it and get your camera working again:

Check Device Manager

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras.
  • If you see your camera listed, right-click and choose Update driver.
  • If it's missing or has a yellow warning icon, proceed to the next step.

Use HP Support Assistant

HP Support Assistant can automatically detect and install missing drivers:

  • Download and install it from: HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
  • Open the app and click Updates > Check for updates and messages.
  • Install any available camera or imaging device drivers.

Download Driver from HP Website

  • Visit the HP Support page - Official HP® Support
  • Enter your HP Notebook model number (e.g., HP Pavilion 15-egxxxx).
  • Select your operating system (e.g., Windows 11).
  • Look under Driver - Camera or Driver - Imaging Devices.
  • Download and install the appropriate driver.

Windows Update

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and click Check for updates.
  • Sometimes Windows will automatically install the correct camera driver.

Enable Camera in Privacy Settings

  • Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
  • Make sure Camera access is turned On for apps and services.

If the suggestions helped solve the problem, please let us know by clicking “Accepted Solution.” It really helps fellow users find quick answers.

A quick “Yes” also goes a long way in showing appreciation!

Take care and happy computing!

Best regards,
