@albertag, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

  • Ensure that the NVMe drive is properly seated in its slot.

  • You’ve reset your BIOS settings, which is a good first step. However, check a few things in the BIOS:
    • NVMe Configuration: Look for an option like "PCIe Configuration" or "Storage Configuration" and ensure that it's set to “Auto” or "NVMe Mode" for the NVMe drive.
    • SATA Mode: Make sure that SATA mode is set to AHCI, not RAID (unless you're using RAID, but for single NVMe, AHCI is typically the best).
    • Boot Order: Check the boot order and see if the NVMe drive is recognized there. If not, it could be an issue with the drive itself.

Boot into the OS:

  • Press Win + X and select Disk Management.
  • See if the NVMe drive appears here. If it does, but without a drive letter or partitions, you may need to initialize and format it.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
