@Chicoml11, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding fingerprint issue!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Clean the Sensor: Make sure that the fingerprint reader is clean. Use a slightly damp cloth to wipe the sensor gently, ensuring that any dirt or oil that could interfere with the recognition is removed.

Re-register Fingerprints: If your fingerprints have become less distinct over time, try re-registering them. You can do this via the HP ProtectTools Security Manager by following these steps:

  • Open HP ProtectTools Security Manager and select Credential Manager from the left pane.
  • Click on My Identity and then choose Register Fingerprints.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to register your fingerprints again.

Use Alternative Sign-in Options: While resolving the fingerprint issue, continue using your PIN or another configured sign-in option for access.

Update Drivers and Software: Ensure that your system’s fingerprint driver and security software are up to date. This can sometimes resolve compatibility issues that affect fingerprint recognition.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
