Considering that the notebook is eight years old, the possibility that the wifi adapter no longer work does exist.
You might just consider buying a USB wifi dongle. They are quite cheap.

Yep, you have a different model wifi adapter than the parts list indicated.
Here is the driver you need for that one...
This package contains the driver installation package for the Realtek RTL8188EE wireless LAN Controller in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

Don't forget to install the graphics driver from the support page I posted.
The graphics doesn't show up as needing a driver, but you will see a standard vga adapter listed under the display adapters device manager category if the graphics driver is missing.
