this laptop is powerful more than enough to load pages etc. recently when i open chrome, Youtube and setting, the loading and opening times of pages is running slower than expected, i am not sure why. Also it goes slow as soon as i open my laptop and start opening few taps. Just to note: i have selected notebook operating system as i did not clearly understand what a board is.Thanks you.

Hi @beebo90,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it is when your HP Envy x360 16-ac0000, a powerful laptop, starts running slow, especially when opening Chrome, YouTube, or even basic settings right after startup. Let’s walk through a few steps to help identify and fix the issue.

1. Check Startup Apps

Too many apps launching at startup can slow things down.

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  • Go to the Startup tab.
  • Disable any apps you don’t need immediately after boot.

2. Scan for Background Processes

  • In Task Manager, check the Processes tab.
  • Look for high CPU, memory, or disk usage.
  • If Chrome or another app is consuming too much, try disabling extensions or clearing cache.

3. Update Graphics Drivers

Since YouTube and Chrome are media-heavy, outdated GPU drivers can cause lag.

  • Go to Device ManagerDisplay Adapters.
  • Right-click your GPU → Update driver.
  • Or download the latest driver from: 👉 Intel or AMD, depending on your system.

4. Run HP Support Assistant

This tool checks for firmware, BIOS, and driver updates.

5. Check for Windows Updates

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update.
  • Install all pending updates, especially performance or security patches.

6. Consider Chrome Cleanup

  • Open Chrome → go to Settings > Reset and clean up.
  • Use Clean Up Computer to remove harmful software.
  • Disable unnecessary extensions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
