Hi @Aussie_James1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP OmniBook X 14-fe0024QA laptop is showing a message saying the “current diagnostic version 10.5.1.0 is out of date.” Let’s go through a few simple steps to update it so you can continue running diagnostics properly.

Go to the HP Hardware Diagnostics Website

Open your web browser and visit: https://www.hp.com/go/techcenter/pcdiags

This is the official HP page where you can download the latest version of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows.

Download the Latest Version for Windows

On the webpage, scroll to “HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows” and click Download.

The file name will look like HPPCDiagnostics_x64.exe (for 64-bit Windows).

Run the Installer

Once downloaded, open your Downloads folder and double-click the file.

Follow the on-screen instructions to install or update the diagnostics utility.

If asked, select Repair or Replace existing installation.

Restart Your Laptop

After installation completes, restart your laptop to apply the update fully.

The outdated version message should disappear after this step.

(Optional) Update the BIOS Diagnostic Version

If the message still appears when running diagnostics from startup (before Windows loads), the UEFI version may also need updating.

From the same HP website, scroll down to “HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI” and download it.

Follow the on-screen steps to install it to your system partition or a USB drive.

I hope this helps.
