Hi @stan8180,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it is when your HP PC screen is locked and your remote mouse isn’t working. Let’s walk through a few steps to help you regain control.

Step-by-Step Fix

1. Try Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete → See if the lock screen responds
  • If it does, click Task Manager or Sign Out
  • If not, try pressing Esc or Windows + L to refresh the lock screen

2. Check for USB or Bluetooth Connection

If you're using a wireless mouse:

  • Make sure the USB receiver is securely plugged in
  • Try unplugging and replugging it
  • If it’s a Bluetooth mouse, press the connect button on the mouse and check if it re-pairs

3. Use the Keyboard to Navigate

  • Press Tab to move between fields
  • Use Enter to select
  • Try logging in using just the keyboard

4. Force Restart

If nothing responds:

  • Press and hold the power button for 10–15 seconds until the PC shuts down
  • Wait a few seconds, then press the power button again to restart

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
