I give up, I'm just gonna take it to a computer service and see if they can fix it

Hi @SammyM1978,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your frustration. Before heading to a repair shop, you can try a few steps that might fix the issue. Here's what you can do:

🛠️ Try These Steps to Fix the Auto Repair Loop

  1. Hard Power Reset
    • Turn off the laptop.
    • Disconnect the charger and remove the battery (if removable).
    • Hold the power button for 30 seconds.
    • Reconnect and try powering on.

  2. Boot into Safe Mode
    • Turn on the laptop and force shut down as soon as you see the HP logo (repeat 3 times).
    • On the 4th boot, Windows should enter Recovery Mode.
    • Choose Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart > Safe Mode.

  3. System Restore
    • In Recovery Mode, go to Advanced Options > System Restore.
    • Choose a restore point before the issue started.

  4. Startup Repair
    • In Recovery Mode, select Startup Repair.
    • Let Windows attempt to fix boot issues.

  5. Reset Windows (Keep Files)
    • Go to Advanced Options > Reset this PC.
    • Choose Keep my files to reinstall Windows without losing personal data.

If none of this works, it's a good idea to take it to a technician, especially since it's a new laptop and may still be under warranty.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
