HP Notebook - 15-ac022ds (ENERGY STAR)

hello,

about 2-3 weeks ago while i was in the middle of doing work, my dell hp laptop abruptly cut off and has still not powered on after all my attempts at fixing it.

some things i noticed that is strange:

- the screen is completely black and there are no beeps/fan sounds that indicate its on- but ive kept the plug in and it either stays white or turns amber/orange

- whenever i attempted to do the manual restart(taking out the battery, holding power button for 15-60 seconds, and holding b+windows button & hitting powerbutton), the Caps Lock button blinks. Even if I hold the button down to try turning it on, the caps lock button will blink without any noise to indicate the laptop is on

- i tried looking up support on the laptop, but it says the warranty expired august 2016- but i dont see how thats fully relevant to why the laptop stopped working. and if it is relevant, i haven’t even had this laptop for a full 5 years yet.

ive tried everything out and nothing is working. id rather fix this thing before going out and buying another computer. thank you to whoever reads this, and id really appreciate the support & advice

HP only warranties their PCs for a year, so if any fail after that, they have no obligation to fix it for free -- or at all.  By your own admission, you've used this PC for over 4 years -- so it is unreasonable NOW to expect HP to fix it for free.

If you CAN, to find out the problem, you would need to be able run hardware diagnostics by pressing the Esc key repeatedly and then, when the HP Startup Menu appears, select Diagnostics (usually F2) and let it run.

If you can NOT do that, or if that does not work, then there is NOTHING more you can do by yourself -- and there is NOTHING we can do because we have no way of accessing your PC from here to run diagnostics or repair hardware.

You will need to have the PC physically examined in a service facility by folks that can run their own diagnostics to determine what is wrong with it.
--------------------
Since your PC is no longer under warranty, then it will cost you up front to have HP examine your PC. If you want to do that, you will have to contact an HP Repair or Service Center to see if they can examine the PC to determine the cause(s) of the problems, if it can be repaired, and an estimate of the repair costs.

If you live in the U.S., here is a link to the HP Service Repair Centers:

Good Luck
