Hello all. I have a problem with my Hp Support Assistant application. It causes my windows explorer to constantly restart and i can't access any file or folder unless i force restart the windows explorer.exe . i tried to reinstall the Hp Support Assistant but when i checked to download the latest version i saw that my operating system wasn't supported and i never had that problem before with the preinstalled version of HP support assistant? can anyone help because when i tried to install the recommended version from the hp site the same problem keeps occuring. my windows os is WINDOWS 10 HOME VERSION 22H2.

(1) Uninstall HP Support Assistant

(2Restart Windows

(3) Please check <Windows integrity>

 

Open cmd.exe (right click) as administrator and execute:

sfc /scannow

 

msdt.exe /id WindowsUpdateDiagnostic

 

(run again)

msdt.exe /id WindowsUpdateDiagnostic

 

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

 

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

 

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

 

(4Please report your results ( of each command )

HP Recommended

1st command: sfc /scannow

Result: Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

2nd command: msdt.exe /id WindowsUpdateDiagnostic

Result: No problem found

3rd command:Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

Result: No component store corruption detected.
The operation completed successfully.

4th command: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

Result: No component store corruption detected.
The operation completed successfully.

5th command: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Result: The restore operation completed successfully.

The problem stopped when i unistalled the app but when i tried to reinstall it caused the same problem again.

(2) Restart Windows

(3) Download and install

HP Support Assistant (Microsoft Apps Store)

or

HP Support Assistant 9.19.52.0
