Hi,

It's great it passed the hardware checks.

With regards to the recovery USB - is it HP Recovery media you created earlier for your PC using HP software ?

1. If yes, plug it in.

2. Please, shutdown the computer using the power button

3. Power it on.

3.1 As soon as you press the power-on button, keep hitting the Esc button (like tap-tap-tap).

Once the HP start menu opens, press F9 for boot options

4. Follow the on-screen instructions. Demo video >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6bGr3EgEI0  (similar with WIn 10, as well).

Hello,

Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome onboard !

This seems like a software issue with Windows and I'll post suggestions how to fix it.

However, just to be on the safe side, test for hardware problems, too:

1. Please, shutdown the computer using the power button

2. Power it on.

2.1 As soon as you press the power-on button, keep hitting the Esc button (like tap-tap-tap).

This should open a HP Startup Menu which may look similar to this one

3. Choose F2 to open System Diagnostics. Follow the on-screen instructions to perform System Test >> Quick test.

This will check major hardware componets for issue (do it just in case) .
Here is more info >> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03467259#AbT1

If the tests pass without issues, continue. If not, please, let me know

4. Repeat steps 1-2 but when HP Startup menu opens, please choose F11 for System Recovery options.

The computer should boot from recovery partition to open you various recovery options. Note, that F11 option will only work if the recovery partition is there (not deleted) and intact. This recovery partition exists on HP computers which have WIndows prenstalled by HP (a.k.a. OEM Windows). From there, you have prenty of options to choose from.

I'd suggest you first try to run Automatic repair (in Advanced option) to see if this will help

If the automatic repairs does not help, proceed with full factory reset

Follow the on-screen instructions.  Here is video example:

Hope this helps !
