I replaced the internal battery today. After putting Laptop back together, it will not start back up. There is nothing wrong with the charger. I was working up until I took the laptop apart.  The light stays on for 1 second. Do I have to take the laptop apart again, remove the battery, hold button for30+ seconds then put it back together? If that does not work, then what? I hate the fact that all new Laptops seem to have internal hard to replace batteries.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • Have you tried a different battery? Is battery from HP store or from the retailer?
  • Have you tried using the computer only with ac adapter?
  • Have you checked with an old battery?

Keep me posted for further assistance.
