pavillion 15-bk193ms
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have replaced a defective hard drive in a hp pavilion 15 bk193ms. now it will not installl the recovery usb info.  It keeps saying I need to enable the acceleration option for Intel Smart Response Tech.  That is difficult to do for so many reasons.  One there is no BIOS Setup Utility in the abreviated setup list on this computer.  Two,  There is nothing on the hard drive so I cannot reset the program manually.  This has been the most frustrating laptop I have ever worked on and I was a tech for 6 years.

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to clean install W10 as follows...

You can make a W10 USB flash drive installer with the Microsoft Media Creation Tool, using an 8 GB flash drive using another Windows PC, if your PC is not working.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

Here are the steps to create the W10 USB flash drive installer...

Select Download tool now, and select Run.

If you agree to the license terms, select Accept.

On the What do you want to do? page, select Create installation media for another PC, and then select Next.

Select the language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit) for Windows 10. You want 64 bit.

Select which media you want to use:

USB flash drive. Plug in a blank USB flash drive with at least 8GB of space. Any content on the flash drive will be deleted.

Then you can reinstall the drivers and available software from the PC's support page.

Installed windows 01 64 bit from Microsoft. Downloaded the symaptics touchpad drive.  Will NOT reinstall the touch pad drivers in a way that the thing will workl!!!  I have retried the recovery usb several times but it always fails at the point it is installing the touchpad. It claims that it is failing at the symaptics touchpad driver.  I know it is not a ELAN touchpad.  I tried that after I installed Windows 10 64 bit straight.  the error read that this driver did not apply to this machine.  So either the recovery usb is the wrong one {(L 16595 - 001) usb code 500334443600620784} or this is an impossible repair.  I have seen several request on your community page concerning this same problem.

If there is a solution using this recovery usb drive, please let me know.  If it is the wrong usb drive SEND me the correct one!

I do not work for, or represent HP.

If you believe that HP sent you the wrong USB flash drive, you will need to contact HP directly at 1 (866) 724-8600.
