@Katarina25, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Code 10 Error with Touchpad on HP Device!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you're encountering a Code 10 error during driver installation for your touchpad and it's not functioning, you can follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Steps to Fix Code 10 Error:

Verify Touchpad Status and Settings:

  • Ensure the touchpad On/Off light is not amber. Double-tap the light to enable the touchpad.
  • Go to Device Manager > Mice and other pointing devices and check if the touchpad device is listed.

Update or Reinstall Touchpad Driver:

  • Download and install the latest touchpad driver from the HP support website.
  • If updating drivers doesn't resolve the issue, try uninstalling the driver from Device Manager. Right-click the touchpad device and select "Uninstall device." Restart your computer to allow Windows to reinstall the driver automatically.

Adjust Touchpad Settings:

  • Open Control Panel > Mouse and adjust the touchpad settings to ensure proper configuration.

Diagnostics and Testing:

  • Use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) tool for further testing:
    • Restart your computer and press F2 during startup.
    • Navigate to Component Tests > Mouse Test > Pointer Test & Drag and Drop Test to check touchpad functionality.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
