The only time it may not work is if the person lives in a EU country where they need the W7 N version.

Otherwise it works as shown in just a few of the links below....there are dozens of others...I just posted the last few I could find easily.

It even worked for this Russian forum member.

So, I'm not going to argue the point with you.

The only time it won't work is if the person needs the W7 N or K version which the Heidoc site does not provide.

If your recovery partition with Windows 7 is most likley gone with the "upgrade" you did.

Hi, @Panther66

If you can still read all 25 characters of the W7 product key on your PC's case, you can make your own W7 installation media as follows...

Click on the Windows ISO Downloader.exe link to download the tool to create the W7 ISO file download.

Select the Windows COEM ISO file download for the version of W7 the product key is good for.

I have zipped up and attached the Microsoft utility below, that will allow you to either put the file on a USB flash drive or DVD, or you can use a different free utility such as Rufus.

If the product key has anything that says OA on it, you won't be able to activate Windows 7 with it. You need HP specific Windows 7 Home Premium media.

It will work, or I woudn't be wasting my time posting this information.

You're very welcome.

It is not the same link.

This site gets the ISO files from the Microsoft Techbench site.

What version of W7 do you need?

Home Premium 64 bit English?

I'll generate a link for you to download the file which will be good for 24 hours after I post it.

It didn't work, because the OP created a new topic on this same problem!
