Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

 

Chapter 1. page 8 has the supported drive types and configurations for your notebook's model series.

 

Maintenance and Service Guide HP Pavilion Notebook PC

 

The M.2 slot supports both SATA and NVMe SSD's, but it appears that HP only offered the dual drive configurations with the SATA M.2 SSD's.

 

I wouldn't have any reason to believe why a NVMe M.2 SSD + a 2.5" drive wouldn't work though.

 

Note that in order to run a dual drive configuration, you will have to remove Windows from the 2.5" drive, or the PC will always want to boot from the 2.5" drive first.
