Hi:

 

The 128 GB SSD is supposed to have the operating system (Windows 10) installed on it and that is what the notebook should be booting from.

 

The 1 TB SATA hard drive is for storage (save your files on that drive).

My HP Envy laptop came from China with the OS already installed on drive C:  The SSD drive (D:) is empty.  Should I send the laptop back to HP, because the SSD is doing nothing???

I don't work for or represent HP.

 

The 128 GB SSD should have had Windows on it.  That is all I know.

 

You can clean install W10 on the 128 GB SSD and remove Windows from the 1 TB hard drive and use it for storage as it was intended.

 

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

 

Otherwise you probably should return the notebook for a refund.
