PC Notebook HP - 15-da0021la
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I hope someone is able to help clear my doubts/questions

I recently adquire a PC Notebook HP - 15-da0021la, checking on the page for this model (https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-15-da0000-laptop-pc/20395828/model/23574471?sku=...) , I found it had two BIOS updates.

I went ahead and installed the first one F.04(https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-15-da0000-laptop-pc/20395828/model/235...) without any issues, then I tried to upgrade to the lates version F.16 (https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-15-da0000-laptop-pc/20395828/model/235...), but I was not able to do it, because the option shown gray out (see below).

As a workaround attempt, I tried to do the upgrade using the HP support assistance, but to my surprise it does not detect any missing updates related to BIOS.

Finally, I tried the USB method, but it also failed. When I checked the log file , I noticed the following entry

Captura2.PNG

So based on the output It seems to be looking for a file named 84AA.bin, but when I checked the Folders within the USB stick, I do not find any file with this name. The only files I found are named 084A8.bin, 084A8.s12, 08532.bin and 08532.s12

My questions related to this issue are:

  • Is F.16 BIOS version actually intented to be used for this computer model (15-da0021la)?
  • If not, then why does it show up on the computer´s support page?

Any feedback is appreciated !

Regards,

Enrique Fallas

Thank you for joining the HP Community

BIOS what you are trying to update is not intended for your computer.

I see that the computer what you have is a customizable computer and that is the reason why you see that the BIOS update on the web site.

Keep me posted.
