A family donated my work some Hp ultrabook laptops, however someone from their company is still logged in and it requires a password. Is there a way i can make my own log in without being able to get to the start button.

  • What password do you refer to - if I am correct, you mean Windows account password ?
  • Can you please describe in detals or take a picture with your smartphone/camera and attach back here in your next reply ?
  • What is the exact PC model and product number (p/n) - please, check this article and post back the details without serial number >> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108
  • Do you know what Windows version it runs ?

 

Usually, if you get a used laptop, you need to reinstall the operating system (example, reinstall Windows) to give the machine a fresh clean start. You never know what the used OS may have in it (e.g. unwanted or illegal apps, hidden modifications, hidden viruses or malware, etc). If you refer to Windows account password, you need to reinstall Windows.
