Hello,
I am trying to update my 15-da0243ur BIOS from the current version of F.02 to the latest published F.11.
The update program was downloaded from the product support page https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-15-da0000-laptop-pc/20395828/model/23966099
The BIOS update file name is sp91952.exe, download link https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp91501-92000/sp91952.exe
First I have tried to run the update program inside Windows, but update option was grayed out saying that BIOS update is locked on the device.
I have copied BIOS file to USB device using the update program and invoked BIOS Hardware Diagnostics UEFI by pressing ESC and then F2 during boot.
I selected Firmware Management option and tried to update BIOS. The BIOS file was recognized and the update utility asked me to confirm, that I want to update from F.02 to F.11. Then update failed, saying the BIOS file provided was "not intended for this system".
BIOS filename is 08532.bin
Another strange thing is that on the product support page https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-15-da0000-laptop-pc/20395828/model/23966099 the BIOS version published are F.01, F.04 and F.11, while my Notebook reports version F.02 installed.
Can somebody check, that the version of the BIOS published is indeed intended for my hardware?
Thank you!
My machine Product No. is 4RL09EA

I have gone through your Post and I would like to help
Try updating this BIOS version : https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-15-da0000-laptop-pc/20395828/model/239... and let me know if it works
If the issue persists, please download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...
HPSA will automatically look for the latest available drivers, BIOS and Firmware for your Notebook
-
Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
-
Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
-
Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
-
Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
-
Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Let me know how it goes

Hello again.
So was able to update my Notebook BIOS from F.02 to F.04 (and so I marked the post above as accepted solution). I was not able to update BIOS from F.04 to F.11 though (see details below).
Detailed description.
Update from F.02 to F.04:
- (Worked) BIOS Hardware Diagnostics UEFI (press ESC and then F2 during boot). This how I finally managed to update it. The BIOS files were copied to USB device using BIOS update program in Windows.
- (NOT worked) BIOS update program in Windows. All went well and I have got the confirmation screen, that the BIOS is successfully updated and a restart is needed. After restart the BIOS was still reported as F.02 by HP Support Assistant (then verified via going to boot BIOS Setup, that reported the same version F.02).
- (NOT worked) HP Support Assistant. Pressing Check for updates and messages button in HP Support Assistant never resulted in any BIOS updates, though other driver updates were proposed (and successfully applied).
Update from F.04 to F.11
This did NOT work. The symptoms were exactly as described in the first post of this thread. Seems like this image (F.11) is indeed intended for some other system.

Thanks for keeping me posted
As per the description on the website, the BIOS F.11 provides the initial BIOS release which came with the Notebook and this might not apply for your Notebook since you already have the F.4 which provides improved security
