In the Windows Installer window, the followinf driver is listed to be installed: HP USB - 12/12/2014 12:00:00 AM - 35.0.56.52825. As it destroyed my last HP laptop when I tried to install it, I want to get rid of it before it ruins this one. How do I do it?

To remove a Windows driver update, use the Update History in Settings to uninstall recent updates, or go to Device Manager, right-click the problematic device, and choose Uninstall device, potentially rolling back to a previous driver. For persistent issues, you might need to boot into Safe Mode or disable future automatic driver installs in Device Installation Settings via Control Panel or System Properties

Then go into the update tool's advanced updates, find "Optional Update" and make sure none are checked.
