Hi all,

I wanted to enable encryption on my laptop, but when I check compatability in System Information I get the message "Reasons for failed automatic device encryption: Hardware Security Test Interface Failed and the device is not Modern Standby, Un-allowed DMA-capable bus/device(s) detected.

 

I purchased the laptop just over a year ago, so I'm surprised that it has incompatable hardware when it is so relatively new. Is this a setting/patch/error that I can resolve, or is it definitative that this device can't be encrypted by Windows please?

 

Thanks in advance, I can't find anything online that confirms one way or another.
