Okay, I've been trying for awhile to disable this PIN authentication thing. A simple Google search prompted me to just remove the password entirely. I did that, and it sort of worked. Now when I turn on my computer, it takes me right to my desktop as expected. However, when I go to the login page of any webpage, it still comes up, which is terrible because that's literally the only part I actively didn't like about it and the entire reason I wanted it to go away. I've avoided adding another password until this gets figured out. This morning turning on my computer, it also asked me before going to my desktop to create a PIN and password before it would allow me to do anything. Instead, I restarted it. For now that appears to have worked, as when it restarted it went straight to the desktop as before. I found a couple of links in past posts here, but these are outdated and no longer appear to have a webpage attached to them.

  1. Click the HP SimplePass icon in the desktop taskbar, then log on using your PIN, password, or fingerprint.

  2. Click the My Settings icon to open the My Settings screen, and then click Delete.

Clicking on this icon doesn't do anything, even though I looked and the extension was added. Is there another way to access it?
