Probook 6560b
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

DrWeb CureIt have found Absolute1 on my second hand laptop HP Probook 6560B. https://www.blackhat.com/docs/us-14/materials/us-14-Kamlyuk-Kamluk-Computrace-Backdoor-Revisited.pdf...

Answer from Absolute; I would direct you to the following link https://www.absolute.com/resources/faq/absolute-response-to-arbor-research/

My response'; My original request was clear; How I can remove this problematic detection?

Answer Absolute; I expect you’ll need to discuss that with your computer manufacturer.  Please keep in mind we’re a software company and we do construct the motherboards or BIOS chips.

Try to find a e-mail from HP, Not found.

Can someone please inform me how I could delete this Unwanted software from my computer?

Thanks in advance,

Frans8

Sorry if I post the question wrong. But with Absolute I mean a piece of software on the motherboard installed by HP itself for anti-theft, A software following article beneath what can be exploited by other malicious software. Now I like to delete this!

And I can not find anything on the HP website, Not even a e-mail address.

Answer from Absolute software manufacturer;  expect you’ll need to discuss that with your computer manufacturer.

So how can I delete this software?

What is Computrace?Computrace is an Anti-Theft software product developed by Absolute Software, which is embedded in BIOS PCI Optional ROM or UEFI Firmware, which can be activated on system boot and creates Windows service by dropping executable file on Windows filesystems.
