Pavilion 14-v041tx
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

Hi, I'm using HP Pavilion 14-v041tx and using Windows 8 64-bit, if I'm using drivers for Windows 8.1 will it be compatible to my OS or not?

Because in the web, there are no drivers for OS version of Windows 8 https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-14-v000-notebook-pc-series/6936223/mode...

Hello @Livia_23

Welcome to the HP Support forum.

Probably they will run fine.

Windows 8 vanilla is no longer supported by Microsoft. It is strongly recommended that you update/upgrade to Windows 8.1 (the upgrade is free). Here are instructions:

If you have Windows Update issues:

>> run the Windows Update Troubleshooter >> https://aka.ms/wudiag

>> update to the latest WU Agent >> https://support.microsoft.com/ta-in/help/949104/how-to-update-the-windows-update-agent-to-the-latest...

and try to update to Win 8.1 again

Hope this helps.

Hi, @Livia_23 :

Most of the W8.1 drivers will not work on W8--especially the graphics and wireless drivers.

I suggest you do what IT_WinSec recommended...do the required updates to W8, so you can get the free upgrade to W8.1 from the windows Store, and then you can use the W8.1 drivers and software from your notebook's support page.

This is the only W8 wireless card driver that may work on W8 for the model Broadcom wireless card your notebook has.

Install this driver, and if it works, connect to the internet, and do the updates...

Broadcom Wireless LAN drivers are required to enable the integrated Broadcom Wireless LAN adapter.
