HP ENVY Desktop PC TE02-1000i (6L728AV)

I've just upgraded my Envy TE02-1000 DDR5 RAM from original 16GB (2x8) to Crucial 64GB (2x32).

The new RAM is much faster - 6400 MT/s vs original 4400 MT/s, but there's no way of enabling XMP to raise the RAM clock speed in BIOS, the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility refuses to install, and I can't find any other such utilities.

It feels like my hardware is being crippled by the lack of XMP support in the HP BIOS.

Are there any other utilities out there to enable XMP?
Is HP working on a BIOS update to enable XMP?

If HP don't release such a BIOS update, I feel like I made a mistake to buy a packaged PC, and would certainly build my own in future.

as you can see in the following link the maximum supported by this processor is 4800, HP for some reason put it at 4400, and there is no XMP BIOS for this model, I don't think there will be a XMP BIOS for this model in the future.

Hi @RayBatty

What processor does it have ?, a ram can never go faster than what a processor supports

Also, if your BIOS is XMP compatible, you cannot set higher frequencies than the CPU supports..

@Resisistencia, Win11 > System > About says 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-13400 2.50 GHz

but I think Task Manager > Performance sometimes shows a higher clock speed.

' if your BIOS is XMP compatible' - as I said, it isn't, but shirley HP could make it so with a firmware update. That seems my only hope.

Aha! Thank you @Resisistencia!

So, I am actually getting 92% max hardware speed rather than 69%. I feel a lot better now. Yes, I guess HP won't do a BIOS update just for memory maniacs like me.
