I had an error message. I had one before but that was meant for me to get a new HD. I installed it and reinstalled everything. Now the error message makes the laptop to stop working and stops at its leisure. If someone has a notion if there is anything I can do. I would be greatful: 64NK9H-5LR9H7-MFGH5G- COC903. I am
Not a rookie but not a technician either and figured that a new HD would solve the problem but boy was I wrong. Anyone’s advice would be appreciated. Thanks,
Robert

That error code translates to Checksum:FAILED I have no idea what it could be referring to unless the RTC battery on the motherboard needs to be replaced. If the battery is bad it could cause BIOS to not hold settings correctly so that when you try to boot it gives an error. Checksum failed can be many things-but from my understanding it means what was expected is not what was found. For instance if you download a large file and compare the MD5 hash to verify the integrity.
A google search of the term will show you what I mean.

If the RTC battery on motherboard is causing the BIOS to lose settings I believe you could get that error. You need the Maintenance Guide for your laptop to find part number for the battery. I need the full Model or Product number (P/N) to find manual. Unless you can easily locate battery and it has a part number on it.

If you ever get around to it. It is a HP Pavilion g6 300iSK product CYBCC-V3PCW-GY2YR-7K43F-3JR6P. I know that there is no warranty anymore but if I can fix it I can always give it away to someone who can use it. Thanks again

I will be happy to try to find your Manual. However I can't find anything matching the numbers you provided. Please look through the document here to see how to find the info:

Hi Cheryl, I have been looking a bit further in the various programs that HP has in this computer. Frankly, I had no idea that I could find so many programs in the computer and their various problem solving websites. I found some further info as to serial 5CG1271NNQand Pavilion g6 1b37a Notebook PC but I could not find a manual for this.
Since then I finally decided to start all over again: I backed up everything on the computer to my external HD and then I re-formatted the drive and re-installed everything to factory condition. Then I found one program on an program page titled: Operating System Check which has the Program: Operating System Diagnostic. It took a long time to run bet the end result was No issues found. The program also gives me the chance to adjust or change quite a few items in my laptop. I have not done that yet as I wanted to keep you informed. From all angles it looks as if I have turned the corner and I am going through all the possible changes (or no changes) as per this report but I still would appreciate if you could find out about that manual or User Manual you were talking about. The following information was found by this program:
HP Pavilion g6-1b37ca Notebook PC serial 5CG1271NNQ Product number QA080UA. Again, I thank you for your advise and maybe you find eventually the manual you were talking about. I am going to continue to get the factory settings completed and if that works I can with confidence re-store my backup. I am trying to find the kudo’s but can’t find it but you deserve one again.
