HP ENVY x360 - 15-aq100na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The problem is this: Like most laptops, the Envy x360 does not have an internal BD/DVD so I've tried 2 externals with the addition of VLC (with added BD codecs) & Leawo BD Player. I can get most BDs to display, including all regions via AnyDVD, but DVDs remain a problem. They show as completely blocky and then freeze as if only some of the audio/video signal is getting through. Anyone any thoughts on this? I've tried uninstalling drivers and so on with no luck.

This probably due to region blocked.  Nothing we can do about that - There are few hacks around, BUT HP won't allow we post hacks on this forum, please search yourself.

Note: I've got a A$800 Toshiba player ( bought 11 years ago) its LOCKed to one region after a number of tries. After that,  I bought a A$79 player, it plays nearly everything.

Regards.

Thanks for the reply. What I don't understand is that the player is set at R2, so insert a R2 disc (disable AnyDVD as it's not needed), attempt to play and the display is completely blocked as per the region blocking you describe.
