Games Lag After Unplugging Charge

Au003TX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Game runs fine when charger is connected but poor performance when not.

To disable some obvious power saver functions probably causing the issue, I set battery mode to 'High Performance'.

Also I have instead of auto, selected to use Nvidia graphics instead of Intel of course.

Don't really know what power saver options I'm missing to disable.

Hi there @Me_Ashish_,

I hope you find your Support Forum experience a positive one!  It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel.  I understand that you are trying to optimize your systems performance for game playing whether on or off the power connection.  I am happy to give you a hand with this.

I would suggest that you go through both of these documents, as the steps will definitely help. HP PCs - Computer Is Slow (Windows 10)  HP PCs - Slow Internet Troubleshooting (Windows 10, 8)

Please let me know whether that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.

Both the articles don't provide any information regarding my issue. Those articles are for general performance improvement of PC. As I said I don't have performance issues while charger connected. It has to do with some power saver functions

Well the more power options you switch from a power saving mode the faster he battery will discharge. So it was worth looking at software optimization to help with any lag issues, as it reduces the cycles used by other processes.

@AmalDeepak23

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you :)

As I understand the games Lag After Unplugging the Charger,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Did you run a battery test to ensure this isn't a battery failure?

Have you performed any of the steps mentioned on the same thread previously?

While you respond to that, here're a few things you can do:

  • Press on the battery icon,
  • then go to power saving mode/settings
  • change it to high performance when unplugged
  • Click Apply and ok

Let me know how that works out, keep me in the loop and Good luck! ;)
