HP p7-1026b
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I purchased a new HP p7-1026b Tower and Monitor some years ago and stored it in my basement after piling some storage boxes, I totaly forgot about the PC until this week after a cleaning. The PC box was still unopened. I set it up and when I star it up I see the HP start window with the message of using "F" keys, soon after it shows window downloading a  greenscreen pops up with a HP small window with the word DIALOG. How do I get thw PC to work.

Thank you. Tony

@aavola Could you share an image or picture of the green screen? as that would help us determine exactly what needs to be done, also, did you happen to check with an alternate monitor to see if the green screen appears on it as well? if not, please do, as this could be a monitor/cable issue, unless the device was exposed to gamma radiation and its turned into hulk! 😛

Meanwhile, you can also perform the below steps:

Let's perform a power reset as per HP standards:

Ensure your device is OFF.

Unplug all the external devices (If any).

Disconnect the power cord from the computer,

Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds.

Connect the power cord

Press the power button to turn on your device.

P.S: Welcome to HP Community 😉

Keep us posted,

And the answer to the above question will help me, help you!

Keep me posted, and if any of the above questionnaires helped resolve the issue,

Mark this post as an "Accepted Solution".

Good luck.
