Recently I noticed my HP DriveGuard icon wasn't showing up in the system tray anymore. I went looking for it and tried starting it.
Since then, I've been getting this message on boot:
I already tried some troubleshooting. Compatibility changes to the program, reinstalling, installing the newest version, installing old versions. So far none of these have worked.
I tried the steps here and they didn't work:
Anyone have any other ideas for what I can try?
System Information:
OS Name - Microsoft Windows 10 Home
OS Version - 10.0.16299 Build 16299
System Model - OMEN by HP Laptop 17-an012dx
BIOS Version/Date - American Megatrends Inc. F.07, 8/11/2017

Many people are on the same boat with you after Microsoft giving a hit. At this stage we have a mix bag: works and doesn't work when do a CLEAN install of
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp82001-82500/sp82228.exe
You may want to try it OR uninstall 3D Driverguard software to avoid error message and wait for Microsoft and/or HP to work this out.
Regards.

Banhien's most recent report of a fix (from November 22nd) appears to have resolved the issue. Check the document in the link Banhien provided if you want to read-up on it. Or, download the related Softpaq 82755 directly here:
Try it out and make sure it works for you. Then, I recommend revoking Banhien's first reply for Softpaq 82228 as the solution and marking Banhien's more recent reply (from November 22nd) as the solution.
