HP Pavillion 15 Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I purchased a HP Pavillion 15 Laptop, intel i3 on the 16th August 2019 and received it on the 17th August 2019.

I pop up on my laptop came up to check my warranty and my warranty expires on 26/03/2020 which is only in 7 months. It says it's a  factory 1 year warranty on the HP Care Pack website.

Is there something wrong here?

Thanks in advance,

Justine

Hi, Justine:

For whatever reason, HP starts the warranty clock ticking the minute the PC leaves the assembly plant.

So the more time the PC sits somewhere before it is purchased, the less time remains on the warranty.

You can get the warranty start and end dates adjusted by one of two methods.

1. Submit an online warranty dispute.  Below is the link for how to do that.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05084516

2. Contact HP support in your country and speak to a customer services representative and they will assist you with that process.

Thank you for your response!

I was going to do the first method but when copying my product number from the HP support assistant, the website just keeps saying to enter a valid product number 😪 I checked the bottom of my laptop and it is definitely correct so I guess I'll have to go with method 2.

Thank you!
