Officejet 200 Review: I recently purchased this printer.  All the complaints that people have made concerning the Bluetooth connectivity being terrible are absolutely true.  Sometimes it connects and sometimes it does not.  The setup for this feature is not at all intuitive.  The printer works as a printer but forget using the wireless connection it will only result in endless frustration.

Hi @Evan74,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're having a frustrating experience with the HP OfficeJet 200 and its Bluetooth connectivity. Here are some steps you can take to address the connectivity issues and improve your experience with this printer:

1. Ensure Firmware and Software Are Up to Date

  • Check for any firmware updates for your HP OfficeJet 200. Go to the HP Support website and download the latest firmware for your printer.
  • Update the printer’s software on your computer. This might include drivers or specific utilities for managing Bluetooth connections.

2. Improve Bluetooth Connectivity

  • Reduce Interference: Ensure that there are no physical obstructions or electronic devices between your printer and the computer that might interfere with the Bluetooth signal.
  • Reconnect Devices: Try removing the printer from your computer's list of paired devices and re-pair it. Sometimes this can help re-establish a stable connection.
  • Update Bluetooth Drivers: On your computer, ensure that your Bluetooth drivers are up to date. You can usually find updates through your computer's device manager or the manufacturer’s website.

3. Use Alternative Connection Methods

  • USB Connection: If Bluetooth is unreliable, consider using a USB connection, which is generally more stable and reliable.
  • Wi-Fi Direct: If your OfficeJet 200 supports Wi-Fi Direct, you can connect to it directly without needing a traditional network connection. This can sometimes be more reliable than Bluetooth.

4. Printer Setup and Settings

  • Reset Network Settings: If you’re having trouble with network connections, including Bluetooth, try resetting the network settings on the printer. This can sometimes clear out any conflicting settings.
  • Printer Reset: Perform a factory reset on the printer to ensure that no incorrect settings are affecting Bluetooth connectivity. Refer to the printer's manual for instructions on how to reset it.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I have given up on getting a stable Bluetooth connection and I am using only a USB connection.
