My keyboard hasn't lit up in a while. I downloaded HP Omen Control software but that doesn't even do anything. Laptop has not seen any spills or damage at all. Just need some insight on what is going on.

I understand that the backlight on the keyboard is not working.
Is the keyboard working?
How long are you facing this?
Are you facing this issue after an update?
Let's check if the issue could fix by pressing F5, it will turn it back on.
However, If F5 does not resolve the issue, then make sure your OMEN is up to date using the HP Support document Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 😎.

I have a few links that should help you download and install the HP System Event Utility which should get you back up and illuminated in the right colors once the Omen Control is installed:
