HP P600 250GB Portable USB 3.1 External SSD

Dear Community!

Have portable 250GB SSD model P600 (P/N : 3XJ06AA) and it stopped working. When I connect to the PC, it's recognized as a new device (Device Manager) but it doesn't show up in the Windows Explorer. Consequently I can't access it anymore.

Is there any HP tool (software) that I can use to diagnosis and recover it ? Or any other software suggestion?

Or other tip to try to get it back to life?

Thanks in advance for any help.

KInd regards

/Hanpo

Hi @Hanpo

try to enter the Disk Manager, if it is there right click the mouse button and re-initialize use GPT or FAT 32 partition and format again.

Thanks Resistencia for the comment and suggestion.

In fact, before posting my problem, I tried the Disk Management. I can see it but as "Unknow" and "Not initialized". Then when I try to initialize it, it returns the error "The request failed die to a fatal device hardware error".

I know it's a very bad indication... but I'm still hopeful I can recover it...

Any other tip is more than welcomed.

Ahhh, forgot to metion in the postings, it is bitlocked. But I know the password.

Cheers

if it cannot initialize or format, I think the disk is damaged.
