HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p211ne
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

My laptop would not turn on so I sent it to a repair center and received it repaired BUT when I installed 'HP Support assistant' app in my laptop, I noticed it has been detected as a different model 'HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p205ne (ENERGY STAR)'

I compared p211ne and p205ne, there's no difference except the HDD capacity and native OS,

The problem is now I am not able to update my bios either via HP Support assistant app or Software and Driver Downloads page.

Since I had added my laptop to HP Support assistant app before sending it to repair, now I can see two laptop exist in the list with different Product and Serial numbers,

[content removed]

Would you please let me know

1. How my laptop Product Number and serial Number have changed ? (possibilities) ?

2. how can I fix this issue and being able to update my bios to the last correct version?

Thanks
