How do I ensure my laptop will support m.2 NVMe SSD?

My laptop (hp laptop model 14-cf1000ne) having only Hard Disk Drive of 1 TB ( no SSD fixed ) and in order to improve its performance I wish to replace HDD with SSD  of ( M.2 NVMe 500 SSD) . I like to know whether the laptop is compactable  with this said SSD or not . Otherwise, which one is more appropriate

Hi:

You will have to open up your notebook and confirm that there is a M.2 slot present to add a NVMe M.2 SSD.

Models that only came with hard drives may not have the additional parts for the M.2 drives.

If you look at the service manual at the link below, chapter 1 page 2, NVMe drives are supported, but if you look at chapter 3 page 20, it shows the parts needed for the M.2 SSD's...

It will probably be difficult to find the additional parts, so if your notebook does not have a M.2 slot, then you can replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD.
