HP 15Notebook Pentium N3520
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Every few minutes (sometimes every few seconds) this icon starts to move around a little, while letting out these loud warning bell sounds. It does it 2-5 times right in a row and then it's quiet for a few minutes (or seconds). While this is going on , I can not move my mouse. It's like that thing has total control over my computer for a few seconds. I've been losing a lot of games because i can't get my mouse to move! I've opened up the HP Assistant to see if there were any issues ocurring that I needed to fix, but there was nothing. I've tried taking it off my toolbar and it does the same thing. I just want it to shut up and quit interfering with my games and my mouse. Help!!! Someone please tell me what I can do before my sanity is compromised by this little dime-sized icon.....LOL!

Hi,

I think it is HPSA, please try

  • Launch the HP Support Assistant and click on "Settings."
  • Select "Never check for updates or messages (Not recommended)" from the drop-down menu under "How would you like to receive software updates and messages from HP?"
  • Select "Never" from the drop-down menu under "Change tune-up schedule."
  • Click "Save."

Regards

BH
