Hello, I want to update the BIOS on this laptop, on the site I chose my laptop model and the latest version of the BIOS. What will happen if the light turns off when updating or but I have a good battary. Do I need the internet  when updating the BIOS? And what precautions can you take? I'm just afraid to do something wrong! Thank you in advance.

The specs of your machine is

Normally we need to connect machine to main (AC) to make sure the process can complete when machine is ON. On some machines we need both AC power and full battery (please don't ask me why, that is what vendors want).

   (a) If turn off machine during BIOS update you can have unpredictable damages, machine may brick itself. I know on some business class machines, they can recover themselves.

   (b) We do not need internet, we can update BIOS offline,

   (c) I would let HPSA to update BIOS for you. Playing around with BIOS is the shortest way to brick your machine.
