SPECTRE X360 Convertible 15-df1xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Brand new 360 Spectre-less than a week old and already have encountered problems with it after installing the new windows edge update.

The Laptop will not charge using the supplied charger-so can not be used when the battery is flat.

To get around this I am using my old HP Envy charger ( that was a heap of crap too....) to charge the new SPECTRE-but this can only be done while the Spectre is not being used as the charge from the old charger  is to low and an error message is shown.

For a lap top that costs £1800  how disappointed can I be.....

I have tried all the up dates

The restarting, draining the power and pressing the button to drain even more power out of it-

Anyone else have any ideas that could help me out before it goes back to the shop????

I reviewed your post and I understand that the battery is not getting charged using the supplied charger.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

  • What is the product number of your computer?
  • Do you see any light besides the charging port when the charger is connected?

While you respond to that, I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.

If you continue facing the issue, then reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under the device manager.

Here is how you do it.

Step 1: Click the Windows “Start” button and right-click “Computer.”

Step 2: Click “Manage,” then “Device Manager.”

Step 3: Click the “Batteries” section. A list of devices will appear.

Step 4: Right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” device and click “Uninstall.”

Step 5: Click the “Action” menu item and “Scan for Hardware Changes” to reinstall the driver.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
