Is it a new laptop?
You can start it any time assuming it is connected to wall power.
The battery is smart and stops charging when it is 100% charged. No need for you to keep tabs on how long it has been charging. Pay attention to the battery level gauge in the lower right corner of the screen. Try not to let the charge level dip below about 15% before you charge it back up. There is no memory effect on modern laptop batteries. If you have to charge from say 15% to 50% then unplug that is OK. Bottom line, plug it in when wall power is handy and use the battery when you must.
There may be some things you want to do other than leave it plugged in 24/7/365 but other than that just use and enjoy as outlined above.
