So, it looks like you have an American English keyboard but it is producing British English characters.

You should check to see if there are any language packs installed.

You could also look into installing the American English language pack:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14236/windows-language-packs

Good Luck

@frayah

What IS above the key -- the British Pound Sign -- which looks a lot like an L with a line through it?

Hi and thanks.

There is a hash sign above the three. When used though it comes out as a £ pound sign.

There are other oddities too. For example the @ sign is transposed with the " sign.

It's quite strange.

Cheers,

Anne.

Hi again,

Woo Hoo!  You have helped me solve the problem.

It appears I had chosen the British keyboard on set up so have now changed it to the Australian one and everything is where it should be.

It wasn't a big issue but it did annoy me so your help is much appreciated.

Many thanks and may you have a happy 2020,

Anne.
