I tried re-installing windows 10 this morning, it still didn't see the new drive. It doesn't look like the firmware on the board is able to see the drive. Again, not sure why HP would put a non-functioning hard drive connector in a computer. It doesn't cost more to make it functional, and it would be more in alignment with Six-Sigma to produce a product with greater value to the consumer. Thank you for your help with this project.

Something to check if you could. In BIOS is Secure Boot Enabled or Disabled?? If Enabled try Disabled, you may also want to try enabling Legacy Support (At separate times). Power off Laptop, when you go to boot again repeatedly tap the F10 key to access BIOS. Always make sure to Save changes you make before exiting BIOS
