I suspect that you are using Edge to download stuff and that is a mistake because MS wants to control everything you do with it, including the downloads. It prevents from doing routine stuff to "protect" us. Yeah, right!
It could also be WHERE Edge is writing the downloads to -- the folder destination.
I would try using a different browser -- Firefox or Opera or Vivaldi -- to see if that makes a difference.
