I can't help you with the updates because the HP spec page says this model came out with Vista and HP no longer provides support for models that old.

As to the issues, this is most likely due to the age of your PC, with hardware now failing, than due to a specific windows update. I have an HP DV6 from ten years ago, that came with Win7, and it is running Win10 v20.04 with no issues.

To check the drive you have to follow these steps:
1) Press Esc key repeatedly, several times a second, while rebooting the laptop. Do NOT hold the key down, just press it over and over.
2) Eventually, you will see an HP Startup Menu
3) Press the Function key for testing the hard drive (usually F2) and let it run.

thanks very much for replying back , I actually did apply f2 diagnostics and did hard disk test and memory test and the hard disk sometimes pass the test other times comes with error 303 coz of the repeated incidences of 3f0 error(hard disk not exist) , but i was looking for these driver updates as i know they last supported my laptop drivers till 2013 which i thought would manage the HDD issue a bit.

The HDD is accessed through disk controller drivers, and if your drives are SATA, which is probably the case, these have not changed in a long time and are not undergoing any changes at present.
