I only have the PIN option to sign into my laptop AND the PIN only lasts for a month
04-20-2021 08:56 AM

Hello,
I am currently have two issues with my HP Envy Laptop.
1) I only have one sign-in option available and that's the PIN password. So the fingerprint scan and hello face are both unavailable.
2) My organization setting says I have to change my PIN every month. This is my personal computer so any "organization setting" should be one that I set or can change.
The second question is definitely the priority so anything ANYONE can suggest would be appreciated.
Thanks

What is your HP Envy ?
- A1. Does it have finger print reader and 3D/IR camera to support Hello ?
- A2. It is up to you and your organization, Do you use your PRIVATE computer for work ? If YES, you have to follow their rule, nothing you can do about that.
Regards.

A1.If you are using Win-10 in your PC and it supports the necessary hello-hardware (fingerprint scanner or IR Camera) then follow the steps to configure fingerprint or face unlock.
1.Click on start
2. Click on settings
3. Accounts
4. Sign-in Options (here you will find your requirements).
A2. Most organizations have their own Virtual Machine or VPN network through which you can connect your personal PC to Organization setup or home networks. Try contacting your organizations IT support Dept for the same.

Hi BH,
Yes it has the required features to be able to do fingerprint and Hello Face sign in.
I do not do any work on this computer so there shouldn't be any organization settings. Is there a way for me to check what "organization" it may be tying to?
