Hello
I brought my laptop to the shop were i bought it because I had some issues with my screen and also my ethernet connection broke of. So when I got it back they installed windows on my HD and not on my SSD so now my laptop is much slower because windows does not run on my SSD. I want to install windows on my SSD but if i reset my computer to the factory settings it is still on my HD. Then I was thinking if I just install a clean version of windows (that I downloaded from microsoft) on my PC. Then I can instal it where I want to. My question is, do I lose my warranty if I do that? Or are there any other solutions for this problem.
Thanks in advance
Kind regards
Thomas

No it would not void your warranty.
You can do a clean install of Windows 10 using Microsoft windows media creation tool by creating UEFI bootable installation USB:
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1950-clean-install-windows-10-a.html
Additional drivers from here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-15-ae100-notebook-pc/8499282/model/8903555
You could alternatively clone HDD system partitions to SSD using this:

No your warranty is not going to be affected by the location of the operating system. Frankly I think the "geniuses" at the shop should reinstall the OS for you correctly for free. If all you have on the hard drive right now is a basic factory install you can even likely clone the existing install to the SSD which would include drivers and factory apps, as well. Macrium Reflect is a free cloning tool that should do that job.
Post back with any more questions but we need to develop a game plan here for how you are going to get Windows onto the SSD where it belongs.
